...Japanese.'
After showing a pic of an up-angle view of the Shibuya town centre through a mesh window, I thought you'd all prefer something a little less netty and a bit more closer to the town itself. As such, here's the last of four key shots of the place, and it's by far the busiest!
I first found out that Tokyo had a HMV (British music and movie store) not from a tourist guide, but from an episode of 'I Survived a Japanese Gameshow' shown on my friend Erynn's laptop back in Kumamoto. Bit of a standard American reality TV show, but when it comes to Japanese gameshows, barely anything is standard.
Still, I bored Leanne a bit too much in HMV itself, but we had fun going around the area itself- made up predominantly of clothing stores and a few clubs (a shopper's paradise!). But go further and you can see a TV studio, which explains why 'I Survived A Japanese Gameshow' opened there, a Disney superstore- as colourful and sugary as you'd expect, and Japan's only branch of Burger King. At the very least, it's the only one I had seen in my whole time over there. If that's not an endorsement to go there, I don't know what is
To round this off, here's a little (and slightly smug) game- match the English translation to the Japanese sign. Additional points are gained for pointing out my errors
'Shibuya Centre Street'
'Smoking While Walking is Forbidden'
'If the medicine...'
'Ongaku No Meijin'

Ah We sold our Japan business a few years back, but I do have a few cool things on my desk that friends have brought me back when they went over on business. They used to do cool toys dressed in the staff uniform!
It's a great capture, I'd love to go
