This was originally going to be a monochrome Frank Miller-esque image, but my black fibreline pens have ran out. Nevertheless, I managed to improvise by using some of my working markers to bring some little-used colours to light in lieu of black and white. It also makes the gallery much more colourful after the recent set of pencil and pen sketches

asked me in a comment to draw a picture of her, letting me choose which image from her gallery to turn into an illustration. T'is a hard choice- she has a lot of lovely, beautiful and sexy photographs (particularly her recent S&M-esque images), but in the end I went with her image titled 'Lust' (see above link for image).

Aside from looking alluring, the dark shadow encompassing her from the right making it look like she's emerging from the darkness, yet not in fear or in urge to escape, but more like she's in tune with it and coming out from it like it was a pool of water into the light to entice someone; could it be a potential lover or a potential victim?

I wanted to emphasise that sense of emerging with my colours, with herself and her outfit getting brighter as it shows up in the light, but still within darkness's hold, hence the deep indigo hair and shades on the outfit. The white skin, however, is to give her an ethereal prescence- to show she looks supernatural in the image. The red lips are to promote her ways of enticement (the cleavage adds to that too, but that's from the original image rather than artistic license ).

Though perhaps I should've made the lips blue or light purple instead to go with the rest of the colour scheme. T'is something to do digitally perhaps. I made some minor digital alterations- mainly to get rid of speckles and pencil lines- but I may produce a clean, digital images as well to make it stand out more, as well as fix it up in general.

Materials Used: Photo reference, 6H, 3H and HB pencils, Dark indigo, indigo, blue, light blue, purple and red markers, Paint Shop Pro 10 for minor alterations.

Time Taken: 2 hours on the work itself, 10-15 minutes on alterations and speckle/smudge removal.
