T'was pretty daunting at first- the background was rich with detail, and for my first years here at DA (and indeed in a lot of my drawings), my backgrounds have either been shades of colours or just left blank. But overcoming artistic challenges is part of letting your talent grow, so I tackled it head on. It took me a while to do- mainly due to the background shading- but I finally managed to shade in the last 2 steps of the stone staircase and, after a couple of checks and tweaks, decided it was finally done.
Hope you all like it, or at least point out which bits could do with some tweaking , and for Catalina, hope you like it too
Materials Used: 5H-9B pencils, photo reference.
Time Taken: Altogether? probably about 3 hours+
(don't know if this requires a mature content tag- there is a bare breast, but the 'offending nipple' is hidden via shading and Catalina's arm. I think I can get away with it )
sweet crispy jesus that looks awesome though the first thought that went through my mind is "JUNGLE GIRRRRL!" far from greek goddess her hand touch the stones looks a litte weird to me though it just might be me either way YAY!

JDM is my future ex-husband doncha know? I'm a lost little girl...
True- I screwed up the shading on it a bit, so elements that should be subtle, like the bone structure, now kinda stick out

I see a frowny face in the steps. Please tell me I'm not crazy.
Awesome job! I really like the original photo AND your adaptation of it. I think they're both amazing pieces in their own right.

Good artists don't grow on trees. Remember: when you sell cheap commissions you're ruining the market for every artist who could hope to make a living on what they do. Your time and talent is valuable.
Thanks you're way too kind Dunno if it outdoes my other pieces, but it's definitely above-par
